Richard B. Green is Vice President, Hospitality Practice at Vetted Solutions, a Washington, D.C.-based executive search firm specializing in serving the leadership needs of associations, nonprofit organizations, hospitality and destination marketing industries nationwide. Richard enjoyed a distinguished, multi-decade career as a senior executive with the Marriott Corporation. While in this post, Green earned widespread recognition and awards for his work on behalf of Marriott in working with a wide roster of associations and other organizations involved in the development of the company’s global management and leadership team, and the advancement of the leadership search and development profession. During his career, Green had direct responsibility for increasing Marriott’s visibility and market share through active involvement with clients and numerous high-level industry associations, including the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the Destination Management Association International (DMAI) and others. His deep involvement in such groups earned Green roles as board member and chairman of numerous committees. Richard brings extensive experience and deep insights into the unique leadership needs of the hospitality and destination marketing industry. Over his distinguished career, he has consistently applied that expertise to help guide and improve the search industry’s effectiveness in meeting the evolving leadership needs and challenges of the sector. Green is a graduate of the University of Denver School of Hotel and Restaurant Management and has chaired the school’s Alumni Board of Directors. His wide-ranging intellectual interests also have driven his success as a business entrepreneur, pioneer in the use of social media and thought leader in the emerging field of destination branding.
