Mike Forgash brings more than 35 years of operational leadership and growth equity investing experience to the Technology Practice at JM Search. Mike pivoted to executive search following a successful career in technology leadership and investing.
As a sponsor-backed CEO and investor/board member, Mike has assessed and built management teams, raised capital from top-tier equity firms and has led companies through successful exits. Mike draws on a proven track record that includes hands-on leadership, operating know-how and investment savvy, in growth and turnaround situations, to partner with private equity, boards and CEOs on executive search. He believes strongly that aligned cultures and values form the bedrock of organizational success.
Mike is a four-time CEO of investor-backed firms. He has had wide-ranging exposure and leadership responsibility across the business lifecycle, from early and growth-stage companies to turnaround situations. For the past six years Mike has held varying operational roles including CEO and Chief Strategy Officer of two life science technology firms. At TrialScope, he sourced and led the fund-raising process to secure an asset buy-out that provided working capital to create a new company in the life science compliance sector. He assessed the existing team and recruited new team members to establish an independent company resulting in 400% revenue growth with Series A capital. Prior to that, Mike was a co-founder on an SBIC venture fund, where he led investments in eight portfolio companies and served as a board member. Mike’s entrance into venture investing began with Safeguard Scientifics where he led several investments, sat on ten portfolio company boards and participated in three successful IPOs.
Mike is a graduate of Duke University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in management science. He lives in Paoli, PA with his wife and has two adult children with whom he loves spending time. He is an avid golfer, a voracious reader, enjoys traveling and is a sports fan who lives and breathes by the results of Eagles games.
