In 1971 Gary Krauthamer founded Krauthamer & Associates (K&A), a DC based retained executive search firm. Mr. Krauthamer has personally completed over 2,000 senior executive and board level searches in North America, Europe and Asia for clients in aviation and aerospace & defense. He is highly regarded for his access to the top executives in the global A&D sector, and has built leadership teams for clients like Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, CIT Aerospace, ATR, and the Saab to name a few. In addition, Mr. Krauthamer is a trusted career advisor to some of the most senior executives in the aerospace industry.
Over the last 45 years Mr. Krauthamer has also been instrumental in the hiring of top executives in the US Transportation and defense sector, several PE portfolio companies, and leading management consulting firms.
In 2009, Mr. Krauthamer was one of the founders of Virgo Investment Group, a Private Equity firm that has raised over $1.8 billion to date. He currently serves as a Partner focused on building strategic sourcing relationships, cultivating the operating partner network and building the information edge in investment due diligence.
In 2018 he co-founded Zephyrus Aviation Capital, a fleet management solutions provider to lessors and commercial airlines around the world. Zephyrus is backed by funds managed by Virgo and was recently awarded the coveted North America Deal of the Year for 2018 by AirFinance Journal.
Mr. Krauthamer is on the board of governors of the Wings Club, was formerly the Chairman of the Omega Institute and is a member of the Social Venture Network. He also served on the board of AG Resource and Fiduciary network a privately held money management firm.
Mr. Krauthamer graduated from American University’s Kogod School of Business with a degree in finance.
