Donna Katen-Bahensky is a Managing Consultant for InveniasPartners, and is based in our Chicago office. Donna has spent over 30 years in senior leadership positions in a number of large and prestigious academic medical centers. Currently, Donna is serving on the Board of Directors for a variety of emerging health care technology organizations including Quietyme, Inc.; branch2; Extract Systems; and she serves as an Adviser to Clemetric Healthcare Data Analytics; Dock Technologies; and Exact Sciences Corporation.
Most recently Donna served as the President and CEO of the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to serving in that role, she served as the CEO of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as well as the Senior Associate Vice President for Medical Affairs at the University of Iowa Health Care. She has also served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals and Clinics.
As a leader in health care, Donna has been active in many professional organizations. She served on the Board of Trustees for the American Hospital Association from 2012 – 2015. She served on the Administrative Board of the Council of Teaching Hospitals of the Association of American Medical Colleges and on the Board of Directors of the University Healthsystem Consortium.
Donna’s recognitions have been numerous over the years. She has been named to the 24 Leading Women to Know in Health Care by Becker’s Hospital Review and was selected to receive the 2013 Top 30 Becker’s Healthcare Leadership Award. She was named as one of Brava Magazine’s Women to Watch and received the Arthritis Foundation Community Impact Leadership Award in 2013.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Science in Public Health Administration. Both of her degrees were awarded by the University of Missouri, Columbia.
