Melissa Braithwaite Appointed as Assistant Deputy Minister, Client Service Delivery at the Public Service Commission

(Nov. 29, 2021) Congratulations to Melissa Braithwaite on her appointment as Assistant Deputy Minister, Client Service Delivery at the Public Service Commission (PSC) within the Government of Alberta. The PSC is responsible for leading the development of policies and programs that ensure Alberta has a professional, non-partisan, diverse and inclusive public service that proudly serves Albertans. In particular, the PSC is responsible for delivering centralized human resources services to the over 26,000 employees of the Alberta Public Service.

As ADM, Client Service Delivery, Melissa will be playing a key leadership role in delivering exceptional and high-quality HR services to enable a strong and diverse public service workforce. In particular, she will lead portfolio teams of HR professionals providing workforce planning, organizational design, employee relations and occupational health & safety services. She will also oversee a service centre providing talent acquisition, executive recruitment and compensation services across the Alberta Public Service. Importantly, Melissa will also be developing and delivering innovative supports and services for Alberta Public Service employees, particularly championing the continued development of equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Hailing from the Greater Toronto Area, Melissa brings over 14 years of experience in progressive HR roles. She has led teams and been responsible for strategic HR initiatives in large unionized organizations all across Canada and understands the importance and business imperative of building more diverse and inclusive work cultures. In her most recent role as Chief People Officer for Mama Earth Organics in Toronto, Melissa sat on the executive leadership team and oversaw all strategic HR services across the organization.
