Greenwood Asher & Associates Places Dr. Jerry Wallace as President of Potomac State College

Miramar Beach, FL – October 30, 2024 – Greenwood Asher & Associates, a premier executive search firm, proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Jerry Wallace as the new president of Potomac State College in West Virginia.

Dr. Wallace, a dedicated servant leader and experienced higher education administrator with strong connections to the Mountain State, will officially begin his term as PSC president on December 1st.

Since 2022, Dr. Wallace has been at the helm of Danville Community College in Danville, Virginia. Under his leadership, the college has seen six consecutive semesters of enrollment growth, bolstered community engagement, and initiated multiple workforce training programs.

Prior to his tenure at Danville, Dr. Wallace served as the president of the Nebraska Central Community College Hastings Campus. There, he spearheaded programs aimed at developing employee-community volunteer initiatives and created an apprenticeship program to offer alternative workforce solutions for community members and employers.

Beyond his roles as a campus president, Dr. Wallace served the New River Community and Technical College in Beckley as dean of Workforce, Technical, and Community Education from 2017-19. He also held the position of resident director at WVU Institute of Technology.

In 2023, Dr. Wallace was named one of the Top 100 People to Meet by Virginia Business Magazine and received the Young Professionals PACE award from the Danville-Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce. More recently, he accepted the 2024 Rising Star Award from the Rural Community College Alliance in New York.

Dr. Wallace’s academic credentials include a doctoral degree in leadership and management, a master’s degree in educational leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. He also earned a second master’s degree, completing an MBA in human resource management with a minor in marketing.
