Morgan Samuels Company

About Us

Morgan Samuels Company is a veteran-owned retained executive search firm with more than 50 years of experience helping organizations find and hire leaders who change the trajectory of a business. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Nashville, we work mainly across North America with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, boards, and public and privately held businesses. Our standard is simple: Others Find Qualified. We Find the Best.

We do not begin with a generic job description or a familiar candidate list. We begin with the business. Our team works closely with clients to understand the strategy, operating environment, culture, and specific outcomes the new leader must deliver. That context becomes a clear mandate that guides the market search, evaluation process, and final selection.

Every engagement is supported by a unified, multidisciplinary team of at least five professionals. Together, they combine world-class research, broad market coverage, candidate development, assessment, and disciplined process management. Our proprietary methodology is grounded in Lean and Six Sigma principles and strengthened by behavioral tools that evaluate leadership, expertise, motivation, values, and cultural alignment.

Morgan Samuels works across aerospace and defense, business services, consumer products, financial services, healthcare, industrials, life sciences, and technology. We recruit CEOs, CFOs, COOs, commercial leaders, people leaders, technology executives, board members, and other senior leaders. Our cross-industry perspective is especially valuable to private equity sponsors and portfolio companies navigating growth, professionalization, integration, transformation, and exit readiness, while remaining equally relevant to public and privately held businesses.

The results reflect the rigor of the process. Clients typically identify the eventual placement within 14 days and interview only four candidates before making a hire. Ninety-seven percent of placements remain beyond the guarantee period, 83% of searches come from repeat clients, and the average search is completed in 79 days. Speed and quality do not have to compete.

Solutions And Expertise

Retained executive search should begin with the business problem, not the job description. Morgan Samuels works with clients to define the outcomes the new leader must deliver, the operating context they will inherit, and the leadership qualities required to succeed. That clarity becomes the foundation for a disciplined search across the full market.

Our proprietary methodology moves through six integrated stages: clarify the opportunity, validate alignment, scour the market, analyze candidates, uncover unique insights, and accelerate impact. Each engagement combines dedicated research, direct candidate engagement, behavioral assessment, and transparent process management. The goal is not to present a long list of qualified people. It is to identify the leader who can create the greatest positive impact.

Assessment, board support, leadership consulting, executive coaching, onboarding, succession planning, and recruitment research are embedded capabilities within the retained search process. We evaluate candidates against the mandate, culture, values, motivation, and ability to produce results, then support alignment through selection and onboarding. This comprehensive approach reduces risk, speeds the path to value, and increases the likelihood of long-term success.
