Bryant Group Selected To Recruit Inaugural Assistant Vice President for Development, Colleges and Units for Belmont University

Dallas-based executive search and talent development firm Bryant Group, has been selected to recruit the inaugural position of Assistant Vice President for Development, Colleges and Units for Belmont University. Krystal Floyd, senior executive recruiter at Bryant Group, is spearheading the assignment for the search firm.

The Assistant Vice President for Development provides leadership and direction for all development related activity for eight of the fifteen colleges of Belmont University. The Assistant Vice President for Development partners with the deans and leads a team of development professionals to build and support a new college and unit-based fundraising model.

Leveraging past achievements such as reaching their $300 million campaign goal for the We Believe campaign, Belmont University is currently experiencing a period of growth and actively enhancing its capacity and capabilities for institutional advancement. The Office of Advancement plays a vital role in helping Belmont University fulfill its mission by creating a more united community of support for all individuals on campus. In partnership with various university stakeholders, Advancement is taking the lead in preparing for the university’s most ambitious fundraising campaign to date. This will enable the university to fully realize its potential as a Christ-centered institution in the heart of Tennessee.

Additional Information about the Position

The Assistant Vice President for Development will collaborate with college deans, directors and senior administrators to develop impactful philanthropic agendas consistent with the strategic plans of each college. Additionally, the Assistant Vice President for Development will lead a team of development professionals and spearhead the implementation of a new college and unit-based fundraising model. The successful candidate will take on a crucial role as the primary development partner for one to two colleges, overseeing a substantial portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.

In the role of Assistant Director of Development at Belmont University, the incumbent’s responsibilities encompass a range of tasks focused on driving fundraising efforts and increasing private gifts in support of the university’s mission. Collaboration with the University Development team is crucial in inspiring trust and encouraging creative thinking among staff and volunteers to significantly boost contributions. The incumbent will also work diligently to build dynamic partnerships with college deans, directors and senior administrators, fostering a collaborative environment and developing impactful philanthropic agendas. Managing a portfolio of 50-75 major gift prospects and donors will be a key aspect of the role, emphasizing the cultivation of meaningful relationships and securing substantial contributions to further Belmont’s goals. Possessing expertise in executing fundraising strategies that resonate with major donors, while aligning them with the interests of Belmont’s colleges, will be integral to achieving fundraising excellence. Additionally, the incumbent will provide guidance to a talented annual giving team, collaborating to strengthen the donor pipeline, increase annual giving dollars and enhance donor participation.

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Director of Development position at Belmont University has a minimum of ten years of experience in university advancement, fundraising or business development. They possess the ability to manage experienced professionals and multiple programmatic areas effectively.
