WinterWyman Executive Search Places Vice President of Worldwide Talent Acquisition at Vertex Pharmaceuticals

NEW YORK, January 3, 2017 — WinterWyman Executive Search has placed Jerod Funke as Vice President of Worldwide Talent Acquisition at Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: VRTX), a global biotechnology company. WinterWyman Executive Search’s Managing Director and Senior Vice President Beverly Morgan led the search.

In his role, Funke will develop and deliver effective talent acquisition strategies and processes designed to recruit the very best, diverse forward-thinking talent. He will also lead Vertex’s recruiting team, conduct executive searches, serve as a member of the HR Leadership team and effectively leverage internal and external resources to ensure they are properly allocated to support each critical business need.

Most recently, Funke was Head of Global Talent Acquisition for Tyco, the world’s largest pure-play Fire & Security Products and Services organization and now part of Johnson Controls International PLC (NYSE: JCI). Previously he headed up Global Recruitment at Shire Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: SHPG) and was Head of Global Talent for GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK). Funke has his Master’s degree from Boston College and is routinely sought out for his expertise by conferences and media sources.
