Unisys Appoints Gene Chao as SVP & GM, Clearpath Forward

(April 22, 2021) ChampionScott Partners is delighted to announce the appointment of Gene Chao to Unisys as Senior Vice President and General Manager, ClearPath Forward®. Gene brings extensive business management, strategy, sales and executive leadership experience in technology consulting and managed services with him to Unisys.

Gene joins Unisys from IBM where he was, most recently, Managing Partner & General Manager of Cognitive Process Re-Engineering & Intelligent Workflows with full P&L responsibility for the business in North and Latin America. He also served as executive/chairman of the IBM Automation Innovation unit overseeing the $1b+ revenue and 1500 team member business. Previously at IBM, Gene was global go-to-market and sales leader for the Cloud & Application Services business unit and also served as Vice President and General Manager of IBM Automation.

Prior to IBM, Gene was Chief Revenue Officer at IPsoft, a global leader in autonomics and cognitive-solution platforms. He has held leadership roles at renowned companies including CSC (now DXC Technology), Hewlett-Packard Company (now HPE) and Accenture.

Gene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration & finance from the State University of New York-Buffalo and completed the Global Executive Leadership Program at the University of Pretoria – Gordon Institute of Business Science in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a frequent speaker at technology industry events and economic forums.
