The Nature Conservancy Hires MLA to Find a Senior Counsel – Corporate Services

Hanover, MD (July 11, 2018) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced that it has been engaged by The Nature Conservancy in Arlington, Virginia, to conduct a search for a Senior Counsel – Corporate Services. Veteran legal recruiter and MLA Partner Brian T. Davis together with Managing Director Rosalind Dodd of MLA’s In-House Practice Group will lead the search.

The Nature Conservancy is an international, charitable environmental organization founded in 1951, with a mission to “conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.” The Conservancy pursues non-confrontational, pragmatic solutions to conservation’s challenges working with partners including indigenous communities, businesses, governments, multilateral institutions, and other non-profits.

The senior counsel independently provides very high value legal services on complex financial matters to advance the Conservancy priorities and appropriately manage risk focusing on the Conservancy’s investment portfolio. Candidates should have at least seven years of legal experience, including five years handling securities transactions in the United States such as private placements, preparation of disclosure documents, and equity investments.

“This is an advisory role, organization-wide, on key issues and major investment projects, so candidates need to have in-house experience or law firm experience advising sophisticated clients and senior management. Experience developing and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals is very helpful,” said Brian Davis.

“The Nature Conservancy works to make a positive impact in more than 69 countries, so our ideal candidate has multi-cultural experience,” added Rosalind Dodd.
