Terra Search Partners Hires Real Estate Executive Gregory J. Melanson as new Managing Director to Increase East Coast Presence

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 14, 2016 — San Francisco-based Terra Search Partners, a retained executive search firm helping real estate companies build successful and lasting teams, announced today that Gregory J. Melanson has been appointed Managing Director of its East Coast offices. Melanson joins the East Coast team along with Partner Alan Greenwald and Principal Jayme Book. The addition of Melanson will enhance the firm’s East Coast presence, enrich the community development practice, and support the firm’s commitment to the wider real estate community, including commercial property development and real estate finance.

Melanson has a diverse background and deep experience in real estate finance with a 25-year career at Bank of America. He started his career there in commercial real estate lending, moved into community development banking and was eventually the product leader of the bank’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit investment business where he set strategies and established revenue and production targets and then lead a team of senior client relationship managers covering 11 states on the East Coast.

Greg is heavily involved in community activities in the Washington, D.C. area. Following his work at Bank of America, Greg was the Deputy Executive Director for the Friends of the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., where he provided leadership for the diverse 58-year-old non-profit organization that supports the Smithsonian National Zoological Park. He has served on the Board of Directors for GreenSPACE, a non-profit dedicated to promoting sustainable design in the Washington, D.C. metro region. He was a member of the ULI Public Private Partnership Council of the Urban Land Institute, participating in the Advisory Service Panel. Currently, he’s on the Executive Committee and serves as Treasurer for CHANGE/All Souls Housing Corporation, a community-based, non-profit with a 409-unit LIHTC property in Washington, D.C., and is on the Leadership Committee of Manna, Inc., a non-profit affordable housing developer.

Melanson holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration, real estate development and finance, from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Loyola University of Maryland, Baltimore.
