Sinto America Group Appoints Michael Halsband as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

EAST LANSING, MI, September 11, 2017 – The North American operations of Sinto America Group [www.sinto.com] recently appointed Michael Halsband as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Michael joins Sinto America after leading the ATW Automation Division of ATS Assembly and Test, Inc. He served as General Manager for this global leader in assembly automation and test solutions.

Prior to ATW Automation, Michael had been with Comau, Inc. as Director, Global Supply Chain Management from 2010 to 2012.  He had joined Comau from ThyssenKrupp Technologies where he started as a Project Engineer with ThyssenKrupp Krause in Germany in 1995.  From 1995 to 2010, Michael progressed into roles of increasing responsibility and scope that included serving as Executive Vice President, Operations for the Krause Division based in Auburn Hills, Michigan.  During the recession of 2007 to 2010, he took on key supply chain management roles for ThyssenKrupp Materials and ThyssenKrupp Crankshaft both with a goal to reduce costs, manage inventories, and assure supplier quality.

Michael is a native of Northern Germany [Luebeck] and attended the University of Hanover where he earned his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer in 1990 and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1994.  Michael speaks native German, fluent English, and has basic capability in French.
