San Francisco, CA, December 17, 2019 – In collaboration with Turnkey Search, the San Francisco 49ers have hired Jenni Luke as Vice President, Community Impact. In her role, Luke will oversee the team’s Community Relations, Fan Engagement department, and the 49ers Museum, as well as the 49ers Foundation, including its direct programs, the award-winning STEAM education program – 49ers EDU, and the youth football program that provides free, non-contact health and wellness education and activity – 49ers PREP. Luke will amplify the organization’s deep passion for empowering and educating Bay Area youth and building strong partnerships with community organizations, partners and donors. Named the 2017 ESPN Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year and the 2017 Pop Warner Little Scholars Team of the Year, the San Francisco 49ers boast one of the most robust philanthropic and social impact divisions in not only the NFL, but in all of sports.
Turnkey Search Managing Director, Diana Busino, who along with Allie Crone assisted the 49ers on the search, believes that “with the strength and reach of the 49ers community impact and its leaders already at the forefront of the industry, it was critical to find an executive who can empower the people and programs to reach their uncapped potential.” Busino continued: “Jenni is a proven leader, mentor, strategist, and visionary that can help the team further the mission to harness the power of football to make a lasting difference in the lives of the Bay Area youth and underserved groups.”
For more than ten years, Luke served as the Chief Executive Officer of Step Up, an organization dedicated to the support of teen girls from under-resourced communities in the pursuit of higher education and career development. During her tenure, the organization quadrupled the number of teens served, expanding the reach of the organization into two new major metropolitan areas, and tripling annual revenue for the organization, all while measurably furthering the organization’s mission to empower and propel girls to become the next generation of professional women. She continues to serve as a National Board Member and a Board Executive Committee member for Step Up. A California native, Luke earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego and a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law.
