Ryff Appoints Sarah Coursey to Senior Vice President, Global Sales

(Nov. 6, 2020) Ryff, an AI media technology start-up, has appointed Sarah Coursey to Senior Vice President, Global Sales. Ryff addresses one of the biggest dilemmas facing the TV and film industry’s economic model – how to make product placement automatic, seamless and personalized to the viewer. Last year, Ryff closed a $5 million initial investment round, which was led by Valor Siren Ventures, and included VC leaders such as MaC Venture Capital, Monteta Ventures and the late Paul Allen’s Vulcan Fund.

Coursey brings to Ryff 15 years of executive-level distribution experience at international media companies, where she has worked with local & global teams, supervising 12 people in 5 countries and managing multi-million dollar budgets. Most recently, she was SVP, International for GRB Studios, in charge of global co-productions, sales and acquisitions. She held the post of GM, Americas for Inverleigh, managing one of the world’s most prestigious sports and lifestyle content catalogues, and was Head of Sales & Co-productions, Americas for ZEE, managing 210,000 TV hours, 3,500 films and a formats catalog. She is also the co-creator of Love at First Bite, aired on Discovery. Earlier in her career, Coursey was EVP Global Sales for Newzulu, a content start-up. Before that, she created a format sales and acquisitions department for MEG, launching 20 formats. Coursey headed 2 departments at Zodiak: Format Sales & Acquisitions. She supervised acquisitions from 34 production companies. She managed the sales team and handled formats and films, including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

A dynamic communicator, Coursey has shared her expertise as a panelist/lecturer at NATPE, DISCOP, Rose d’Or and EBU. She has been a judge for International Emmy’s since 2016. She holds a B.A. in American Studies and Film Studies from Mount Holyoke College and an EMAM Master in Film & TV Management.
