Robert Block Appointed as CFO at Public Health Management Corporation

(July 2020) Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Block as Chief Financial Officer at Public Health Management Corporation.

Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) is a nonprofit public health institute that builds healthier communities through partnerships with government, foundations, businesses, and community-based organizations. It fulfills its mission to improve the health of the community by providing outreach, health promotion, education, research, planning, technical assistance, and direct services. PHMC combines the mission-driven perspective of a nonprofit with the fiscal control and management capabilities of a rigorous corporate structure. With a gross budget of $333M, 3,200 employees, 350 programs, a network of subsidiary organizations, 70 locations and sites and close to 350,000 clients served annually, PHMC is one of the largest and most comprehensive public health organizations in the nation.

Robert Block joins PHMC from Community Health Center Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center in Middletown, CT, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer at Stone Harbor LLC and prior Vice President of Finance St. Vincent’s Health Services.

Robert holds a MS in Public Policy from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at The University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School of Finance at The University of Pennsylvania.

Robert brings to the role a track record of success in growth, revenue enhancement, and cost containment, in start-up and turn-around situations in publicly traded, private, for-profit and nonprofit organizations. He is skilled in day-to-day financial operations, budgeting and forecasting, benchmarking and variance analysis. As Chief Financial Officer at PHMC, he will provide fiscal oversight, control and related operations for PHMC and its hundreds of programs and network of subsidiaries.
