Mike Smith

Mike is Head of the Asset Management and Capital Markets Practices. He has over two decades dedicated to recruiting within both alternative and sell side financial services. Mike focuses on identifying and attracting world class portfolio managers, quants, traders, and a broad spectrum of front-office talent.

Before Hudson Gate, Mike led the global recruitment efforts at Citadel Securities, Genesis, and GLG. Mike’s professional background combines both deep in-house expertise and decades of external search success. His thorough understanding of both the agency and in-house recruiting sides ensures that our clients and candidates are provided with his depth of insight, industry acumen, and extensive network.

Mike lives in Chappaqua, NY with his wife and two sons. He and his family enjoy volunteering their time to causes which advocate on behalf of special needs children. Mike holds a dual degree from Rutgers University and is certified in Hogan Assessment methodology.
