J. James O’Malley

For 30 years, Jim has developed talent acquisition solutions to ensure that  leadership talent aligns with changing business needs. Jim co-founded Comhar Partners earlier this year and has been focusing on recruitment for Private Equity, Professional Services and Financial services practice groups. Jim has served: Management Consulting firms, Architecture, Engineering, Accounting, Tax and Law firms in addition to IT, Healthcare, Operations and Supply Chain consultancies. He also helps large Commercial, Consumer and Private Banks with their hiring needs.  Before Comhar Partners, Jim was a Partner and Executive Search Practice Leader for TalentRISE.

Before TalentRISE, he was Senior Vice President in the Human Resource function of  Fifth Third Bancorp where he built the infrastructure to support the organization’s strategic workforce planning needs while attracting, retaining and recruiting their executive workforce. He also served for five years as managing director and leader of  the talent acquisition function for Huron Consulting Group, a global professional  services firm, was the vice president of human resources with Edward Don and Company, the nation’s largest foodservice supply and equipment distributor, and held various  leadership roles with Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and internet consultancy Lante.

Jim serves on the board of directors for HFS Chicago Scholars a non-profit providing economic disadvantage youth access to a private High School experience. He is also an active member  of the Society of Human Resources Professionals, Human Resource Management  Association of Chicago and the Metropolitan Club of Chicago.

A graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, Jim was awarded the Staffing  Management Association of Greater Chicago “Staffing Professional of the Year” award in  2008.
