PE-backed FXI Appoints Chief HR Officer from Search by Hanold Associates

CHICAGO (Mar. 11, 2021) ― FXI, a leading provider of comfort technologies backed by private equity firm One Rock Capital, has appointed Courtney Damon as its Chief Human Resources Officer. Sandra Peña and Sonia Nagra led the search on behalf of this Pennsylvania-based company.

Courtney Damon comes to FXI from Wencor Group where she served as EVP of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the CEO of FXI, Harold Earley, Damon will lead the development and operationalization of the enterprise-wide human capital strategy. Damon will also lead a strong team as she designs people programs to power growth through actively engaged, developed employees.

“Courtney is a highly talented executive who brings a great depth of experience in HR and as an advisor to executive leaders,” said Sandra Peña, Hanold Partner. “She has a successful track record in strong operating organizations, and she will no doubt be a tremendous asset to FXI as the company continues on its transformation journey.”

Founded in 2009, FXI provides leading branded bedding solutions sold through key retail channels such as Costco, Sam’s, Kohl’s and Amazon. It is also a leading provider of comfort solutions to the largest OEMs in the bedding and furniture space, and it is a valued partner to the leading direct-to-consumer bedding brands. In addition to its primary business servicing the bedding market, FXI is also a leader in innovation in the transportation and healthcare markets.

The company was acquired in 2017 by One Rock Capital, a private equity firm with locations in New York and Los Angeles. With the backing and support of One Rock, the company began its plan for growth, both organically and through acquisition. In 2020, the acquisition of Innocor effectively doubled the size of the company in both employee and location count. With the additional resources of Innocor and its backer Bain Capital, FXI plans to become the leader in bedding comfort solutions in North America.

After the merger, FXI has more than 4,000 employees, with 30 manufacturing locations throughout North America. The company is headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia.
