Occam Places Amgen CMO on Board of Moonwalk

In June 2025, Occam Global placed Paul Burton, MD, PhD, on the Board of Moonwalk Biosciences.

‍Burton became Amgen’s CMO in June 2023. Prior to joining Amgen, he served as the CMO of Moderna Therapeutics from 2021 to 2023 and spent 16 years at J&J, where his most recent role was Chief Global Medical Affairs Officer.

‍Burton has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, covering all phases of drug discovery and development, including both small and large molecules, as well as mRNA therapeutics. He has also worked in various therapeutic areas, such as oncology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, and infectious diseases.

‍He earned his BSc in Physiology from King’s College London, his MD from the University of London, and his PhD in Philosophy from Imperial College London.
