Northeastern University Appoints Jeff Seo as Assistant Vice Provost for Research Compliance

BOSTON, MA, December 21, 2016 — Jeff M. Seo has been named Northeastern University’s Assistant Vice Provost for Research Compliance.

In this role, Seo will oversee the university’s National Science Foundation (NSF) Award Compliance Program, including award reviews, training program development, and written annual reports submitted to the NSF.

Seo joins Northeastern from Harvard Medical School, where he served as Director of Research Compliance and most recently, as Executive Director of Academic and Research Integrity. Among other accomplishments, he founded a university-wide sponsored research training certification program and developed an online sponsored research training module for faculty.

Prior to joining Harvard, Seo worked at Pierce & Medell, a Boston-based law firm, where he represented a diverse group of health clients.

As an Adjunct Faculty member at Emmanuel College, Seo has been teaching regulatory compliance classes. He also has been serving as Academic Program Chair, lending his expertise to the administration of the Graduate Program in Research Administration.

Seo received his bachelor of arts from the University of Rochester, his JD from the New England School of Law, and a master of laws in health law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
