MLA Welcomes Amber Shockey to its Texas In-House Legal Recruiting Team

Hanover, MD, July 16, 2018 — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, welcomes Managing Director Amber Shockey to its in-house legal recruiting team in Texas. With more than 13 years of recruiting experience, Amber advises both corporations and candidates in complex, national searches that require deep knowledge of the legal industry, market and talent pool.

After law school, Amber practiced as a litigation associate with Jenkens & Gilchrist for two years and then joined Thompson & Knight in 2003 to focus on energy law. In 2005, she joined a Texas legal recruiting firm and has been recruiting for corporations and law firms ever since. While her industry reach is broad, including real estate and private equity, Amber has a particular understanding of the energy industry having grown up in a Texas oil family and practiced energy law herself.

Amber earned her B.B.A. in Finance from University of Oklahoma and graduated cum laude with a J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
