Lawdragon Names Four MLA Recruiters to its “100 Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists” List for 2018

Hanover, MD, July 11, 2018, — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, announces that four of its senior recruiters have been named to Lawdragon’s 2018 list of “Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists:” Amanda K. Brady, Jane Sullivan Roberts, Keith C. Wetmore and Paul S. Williams. This is Lawdragon’s third annual look at the advisors to the world’s best lawyers. The full list is available here.

Amanda K. Brady is the managing partner and global practice leader of MLA’s Law Firm Management Practice. She specializes in placing business professionals across the law firm management suite, including operations, finance, marketing, business development, strategy, pricing, human resources, recruiting and professional development, technology, knowledge management and practice management. Amanda is also the managing partner of MLA’s Houston, Texas, office. She is a frequent speaker on law firm management issues and was inducted as a fellow in the College of Law Practice Management in October 2017. Amanda was also named to Lawdragon’s list of “Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists” in 2016 and 2017.

Jane Sullivan Roberts is a partner in MLA’s Washington, D.C., office and represents individual law firm partners and groups as well as senior government lawyers. She also conducts searches for senior in-house positions. Jane’s previous experience in a major law firm, as both a practicing partner and the leader of the talent development program, is an invaluable asset when counseling partners and partner groups. She has represented some of the profession’s highest profile lawyers in moving from one law firm to another and from senior government positions to the private sector. She has also represented lawyer groups moving laterally to a new firm. Jane was also named to Lawdragon’s list in 2016 and 2017.

Keith C. Wetmore, a managing director in MLA’s San Francisco office, represents partners and groups in placements into top global, national, regional and local law firms throughout Northern California. Keith was previously chair and chief executive partner of Morrison & Foerster from 2000–2012, serving four three-year terms. As such, he took the lead in setting policy and providing strategic direction to the 1,000-lawyer global law firm. During Keith’s tenure, the firm more than doubled its revenue and tripled its net income without increasing attorney headcount. He was personally engaged in virtually every lateral hire at the firm. He also led the annual process of evaluation and compensation of more than 300 partners. Keith joined Major Lindsey & Africa from Morrison & Foerster at the beginning of 2018.

Paul S. Williams, partner in MLA’s Chicago office, conducts in-house searches at all levels with a focus on general counsel and other senior-level positions. He is also co-leader of Allegis Partners’ North America CEO & Board Practice, specializing in identifying top board candidates and assessing organizational corporate governance. For MLA, Paul also serves as director of global diversity search, leading the firm’s efforts throughout the country to assist legal organizations in enhancing their diversity. He is a well-respected leader in the area of diversity, frequently speaking on diversity-related issues. Paul was also named to Lawdragon’s “100 Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists” in 2016 and 2017. Also in 2016, Paul was named one of the United States’ most influential black corporate directors by Savoy magazine. His background as a former chief legal officer and alumnus of two of the country’s largest law firms gives him unique insight into how to effectively recruit diverse legal teams and counsel candidates.
