Lauren Smith Named NACD Florida Chapter President
PHILADELPHIA, June 6, 2016 — Diversified Search (Diversified) Managing Director Lauren E. Smith has been named President of The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Florida Chapter. The NACD Florida Chapter was established by National Association of Corporate Directors in 2005 to create a local, cross-industry peer-to-peer director forum for the exchange of corporate governance knowledge and ideas throughout Florida. Smith, a member of Diversified’s Miami office, was elected to the role because of her deep understanding of board composition, the board’s role in strategy, and the Florida marketplace. She has been involved in the leadership of the NACD Florida Chapter since its inception.
“As governance practices and board composition face more and more public scrutiny, Florida directors have a tremendous opportunity to share best practices and learn from experts through the Florida NACD Chapter events,” said Smith.
Smith has conducted senior-level executive search assignments for companies ranging from high-growth early-stage organizations to multinational corporations. She has placed board members and/or executives at clients such as Apple, Citrix, DHL, Fifth Third Bank, Jacobs Engineering, Navient, Novell, Office Depot, Ryder and Tupperware. She serves on the boards of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross South Florida Chapter.
