(May 23, 2022) Odgers Berndtson US is excited to announce that John McFarland has joined the firm as our newest partner in the Healthcare Practice. In this role, John will use his deep experiences, expertise, and relationships to help clients find the executive talent they need to achieve their business objectives.
“We are thrilled to welcome John to our firm,” said Steve Potter, CEO of Odgers Berndtson US. “He has supported hundreds of executive searches for healthcare organizations and nonprofits which gives him tremendous insight into this complex industry.”
John joins Odgers Berndtson with nearly 10 years of executive search experience. Prior to that he worked at Ernst & Young (now EY) where he consulted with healthcare organizations and gleaned a unique perspective for all aspects of the industry. He spent the first 8 years of his career serving in the United States Army, where his service included commanding at the company level, serving two tours of duty in combat, and receipt of the Bronze Star medal.
“I was drawn to Odgers Berndtson because of their strong focus on people, innovation, and growth,” John said. “These are the exact right drivers to create a culture that will benefit our team and our clients, and I find that exciting.”
John earned his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his master’s in business administration from The University of Georgia. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Charitable Care Network.
