(September 2020) Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Luis Lozada as General Counsel, and Namita Khasat as a Board Director, at Democracy Works.
Democracy Works is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the status quo, with a mission to improve civic participation across all elections by building technology for voters and election administrators.
Luis Lozada joins Democracy Works from RapidCourt, where he served as Executive Vice President. Previously, he was Associate General Counsel at YMCA of the USA. Luis brings to the role deep experience in nonprofit law and a passion for the democratic process. Luis received his B.S from Syracuse University, and earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
As General Counsel, Luis will provide legal advice and business counsel, manage regulatory affairs, lead compliance efforts, and be responsible for risk management across the organization.
Namita Khasat has joined the Board of Democracy Works and Chairs its Finance and Audit Committee. Over her career, she has had the privilege of providing executive leadership to critical central, administrative functions across many industries, making sure that, with financial and operational support she enhances her organization’s ability to meet its mission.
She is currently serving as the CFO, Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration and Corporate Treasurer of The Aspen Institute. She is also a Director of the Service Year Alliance Board and Chairs its Finance and Audit Committees.
