Funk Associates Announce President Appointment

Dallas, Texas…Funk Associates is pleased to announce a leadership transition that positions the firm for continued growth and success in serving higher education.

Willie Funk has been named President of the firm. This is a natural evolution of the firm’s leadership structure, as Willie has been leading an impressive portfolio of senior-level search assignments and built strong relationships with client institutions while consistently delivering successful outcomes. He brings to the position both deep experience in executive recruitment and a thoughtful, client-centered approach that reflects the values of Funk Associates. He has been with the firm for a total of 13 years and has served as the firm’s Managing Vice President for the past five years.

Willie is a graduate of Emory University and holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU). His proven leadership experience at Funk Associates – in addition to his legal background – provide a strong foundation for his new responsibilities as President.

Bill Funk, the nation’s most recognized search consultant in higher education, will continue as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Bill will continue to guide the strategic direction of the firm and uphold the standards of excellence that have defined his more
than 40 years of leadership and service to higher education. He will continue his engagement with clients and continue his consultancy on senior leadership positions. He will also continue moderating his popular podcast, “Voices of Leadership” which highlights interviews with leading higher education leaders.
