CMF Associates Named Finalist in Three Categories for the 15th Annual M&A Advisor Awards
PHILADELPHIA, August 30, 2016 — CMF Associates, private equity’s preferred operating partner for finance and financial leadership, has been named a finalist in three categories of The M&A Advisor’s 15th Annual M&A Advisor Awards, including Consulting Firm of the Year, Product or Service of the Year and Service Professional of the Year.
CMF was selected from a wide range of nominees in the first stage of evaluation. The independent panel of judges will now focus their attention on the challenging task of selecting the ultimate award winners, which will be announced on Wednesday November 9 at the M&A Advisor’s Awards Gala at the New York Athletic Club.
“We are very pleased to be recognized in three categories by the distinguished panel of judges at The M&A Advisor,” said Thomas Bonney, founder and managing director of CMF. “We believe our selection as finalists further validates our business model and our knowledge of and commitment to the private equity industry.”
Finalist in PE Consulting
CMF was one of the first movers in focusing on middle-market PE finance nearly 15 years ago. Since then, direct competitors have entered the market and Big Four and other accounting firms have established middle-market PE service offerings.
CMF started with a deep understanding of PE needs, designed a business model and service line to service the needs, and recruited and trained a highly skilled team to deliver consulting, executive search, and deal origination all under one roof. This comprehensive solution enables CMF to work with PE partners to drive operational improvements and deliver on commitments to LPs.
FORWARD™ Program Selected as Finalist for Service of the Year
CMF’s FORWARD™ program is a 100-day financial transition interim CFO offering purposefully designed for funds investing in family-run businesses or carve outs. Specific modules in CMF’s 80+ page playbook include intellectual property and delivery capability:
- Finance department management
- Operational enhancements for increased cash flow
- Reporting upgrades
- Working capital true up
- Acquisition accounting and auditing management
- Rendition of future IT
- Departmental transition to full time CFO
CMF has worked with more 110 PE funds and over 425 companies across the country and brings detailed knowledge of the work required and the personal and emotional matters that are impacting everyone. Specifically, with FORWARD™ projects, CMF anticipates issues, trains and mentors the existing team and uses modules from its intellection property library to get it all done in 100 days.
Kathryn Kehoe Named as Finalist for Service Professional of the Year
Kathryn Kehoe is a managing director at CMF and leads the firm’s executive search and recruiting practice. She has driven the growth of the firm’s PE focused, finance executive search practice over the past 8 years. Kathy has a comprehensive knowledge of the middle-market private equity industry and a keen understanding of the leadership behaviors and attributes that are evident in “A” player finance executives.
She has built CMF’s recruiting team, technology and processes to ensure repeatable scalable success that enables CMF to access talent, nationally not only for our executive search clients, but those PE funds with interim leadership needs.
“We are very pleased that Kathy has been recognized by the PE community for her specific talents and accomplishment,” said Thomas Bonney, founder and managing director of CMF.
