Cathy Pope Appointed as President & CEO, Mid-South Food Bank

July 2019 – Bridge Partners is delighted to announce the appointment of Cathy Pope as President & CEO for Mid-South Food Bank.

The Mid-South Food Bank is guided by a mission to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. It has an excellent reputation in the communities it serves and is a member of the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief network, Feeding America. Serving 31 counties across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas over 400,000 people are assisted annually through Food Bank operated programs and a network of 275 partner agencies.

Effective August 20th, 2019 Cathy will become the organization’s new President & Chief Executive Officer. She will oversee all aspects of the Mid-South Food Bank including fiscal accountability, people management, resource development (food and funds), operations management, marketing and public relations, and compliance.

Cathy joins the Mid-South Food Bank from Feeding the Gulf Coast Food Bank based in Theodore, Alabama where she was President & CEO. Prior to that, she served as the Executive Director of Meals on Wheels of Middle Georgia. She began her career as a network engineer for AT&T. She serves on Feeding America’s Policy Engagement and Advocacy Committee, BancorpSouth’s Corporate Community Advisory Council, and on the Board of Southeast Regional Cooperative, a 501(c)3 organization focused on providing fresh produce to Feeding America food banks in that region. In June 2019, Cathy was recognized as a Leading Lady by the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama for her community support.

Cathy has a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University, a Master of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Georgia Southwestern State University.
