Calibre One Places Samir Kapoor as VP, Engineering for Fitbit

SAN FRANCISCO, December 5, 2016 — Samir is now VP of Firmware Engineering at Fitbit and is responsible for firmware on all Fitbit products.

Prior to his time with Fitbit, Samir spent 10 years with Qualcomm, where he was VP of Engineering and held multiple leadership roles in software engineering and wireless technology development for mobile and consumer products.

Before that, he was the Director of Engineering at Flarion Technologies (acquired by Qualcomm in 2006), and was an early member of the team that developed the innovative FLASH-OFDM technology.

Samir holds over 20 patents in the U.S., received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
