Bridge Partners Announces Appointment of Kristina Martin as Chief People Officer of PLOS

January 2020 – Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristina Martin as Chief People Officer at Public Library of Science (PLOS).

PLOS is a nonprofit, Open Access publisher founded in 2001 with a mission to accelerate progress in science and medicine by leading a transformation in research communication. Nearly 20 years later, PLOS has seen its initial experiments grow into a wave of Open Access support that has forever changed the scholarly communication landscape.

As the Chief People Officer, Kristina will lead all aspects of the people function including HR operations, talent acquisition, training, talent management, all aspects of culture, diversity, inclusion & equity, and organizational development. She will also play a key role in advancing PLOS’ strategy, developing its leadership and staff, and coalescing its culture to create new ways of working in a world of continuous change.

Kristina brings an extensive human resources leadership background spanning both the nonprofit and private sectors. Most recently, she was Chief Talent & Culture Officer/Chief Strategy Officer at Partners in School Innovation, where she partnered with the CEO to drive strategy, organizational effectiveness, and executive team development, as well as broader talent & culture, diversity-equity-inclusion, and leadership development initiatives. Her earlier career included Nice Systems, RSM McGladrey and Booz Allen.
