Ann Weiser joins Chicago Cubs as Vice President, Human Resources

CHICAGO, IL, February 1, 2017 — The Chicago Cubs named Ann Weiser as Vice President, Human Resources.  Weiser is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach where she received her degree in Sociology.  Upon graduation, Ann moved to Chicago where she joined American Hospital Supply, which would later become Baxter Healthcare.  After eight years at Baxter, in which Weiser progressed through a variety of HR generalist roles, she continued to grow her career in Director and Vice President level Human Resource positions with Kraft, R.R. Donnelley, and U.S. Foodservice, among other well-known and regarded employers.

In 2007, Ms. Weiser moved to Santa Monica as Chief Human Resources Officer for Activision Blizzard, the merger of two major software development companies with nearly $5 billion in revenue.  Here, she supported Activision’s rapid growth which included all aspects of human resources management, and in this case, the recruitment and retention of a vast army of millennials in software development.  As the Cubs’ organization continues to grow as a professional sports team, major entertainment/sports content provider, and real estate holdings organization, Weiser’s skills and experience will be invaluable.

After Activision, Ms. Weiser has been serving as an Instructor and Executive-in-Residence at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.
