Alan D. Johns Joins Cejka Executive Search As Executive Vice President, Managing Principal

ST. LOUIS, MO, December 14, 2017 – Cejka Executive Search, ranked on Forbes list of America’s Best Executive Recruiting Firms, is pleased to announce that Alan D. Johns has joined the firm as Executive Vice President, Managing Principal to lead the firm’s Academic Medicine and Health Sciences Practice. Johns brings three decades of experience in higher education/academic health sciences administration, finance, operations, strategic planning, research administration, risk assessment and accountability to Cejka Executive Search.

Prior to joining executive search four years ago, Johns served in senior leadership positions at public and private, research-intensive universities, including Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (Associate Vice Dean and CFO), Duke University School of Medicine (Associate Dean for Strategic Services and Chief Academic Administrative Officer for Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center), Virginia Commonwealth University (Assistant Vice President for Health Affairs – Finance and Administration), and Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (Assistant Dean for Business and Finance).  His first-hand knowledge and experience working closely with provosts, deans, department chairs, division chiefs, center directors, senior faculty research scientists and administrators enable him to understand our clients’ challenges and strategic recruitment objectives.

Specializing in the recruitment of academic leaders and senior faculty, Alan and his team are dedicated to providing high-quality, high-touch search execution, candidate management and client satisfaction for schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry pharmacy, public health allied health professions, and cancer centers and other research institutes.

Johns earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida, a Master of Public Administration from University of North Florida and completed the Advanced Program for Executive Search Consulting (AESC) at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
