ADK Completes Search for Assistant Director of Airports for The County of Sacramento, Department of Aviation

SACRAMENTO, CA – ADK Consulting and Executive Search, a retained consulting and search firm based in Jacksonville, Florida, assisted in the successful placement of Christopher Wimsatt as Assistant Director of Airports for The County of Sacramento, Department of Aviation (SCDA). In this position, he will have broad authority over major airport functions and directly manage SCDA’s five Deputy Directors of Operations, Maintenance, Planning & Development, Finance & Administration, and Commercial Development. Mr. Wimsatt began his new role on December 29, 2024.

Mr. Wimsatt joined The County of Sacramento in 2021 as Deputy Director – Finance & Administration. In that role, he led the Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Project Portfolio Office, Purchasing, IT and Human Resources
departments. He managed more than 400 employees and a $250 million operating budget. Over the course of his time in Sacramento, he has won awards for his approach to leadership in public finance, winning the Bond Buyer Rising Star Award in 2023, and the Finance Professional of the Year award from Airports Council International in 2024. Previously, Mr. Wimsatt served as Division Manager/Chief Financial Officer for the City of Dayton, Ohio where he had responsibility for financial and administrative oversight of Ohio’s fourth largest airport system.

Mr. Wimsatt received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Ohio University. He went on to receive his master’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University.
