The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB), a proud Hispanic-Serving Institution and member of the UT System, is experiencing significant growth and expansion and invites nominations and applications for its next Dean of the College of Health Sciences. With enrollment on the rise and strong community partnerships with Texas Tech Medical School, three major hospitals, the soon-to-be-built Behavioral Health Center, and the Permian Strategic Partnership, which has invested over $24 million in UTPB’s healthcare programs, the next Dean will have a rare opportunity to shape the College’s future to meet critical workforce needs, advance research, and elevate the University’s national profile. Guided by President Sandra Woodley’s bold Falcon Future 2030 strategic plan, UTPB is making transformative investments that underscore its deep commitment to student success and regional impact. As one of the University’s most strategically important colleges and home to Nursing, Social Work, Human Performance, Psychology, Biology, Community & Family Health, and major centers for interprofessional and experiential learning, the College plays a central role in healthcare workforce development across the Permian Basin. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the next Dean will join a highly supportive leadership team to drive academic excellence, strengthen community partnerships, and help shape UTPB’s long-term vision, including potential new programs and a planned Health Sciences Complex to support the region’s expanding healthcare needs.
