(May 22, 2025, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Karla Gutierrez securing the role as Interim Registrar at Tarleton State University.

Karla Gutiérrez comes to Tarleton with over 14 years of experience in registrar operations, enrollment management, and student records compliance. She is finishing a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and is a Graduate Research Assistant at Oklahoma State University. Karla’s background includes extensive leadership in academic records management, strategic enrollment operations, and cross-campus collaboration. Ms. Gutiérrez has successfully led teams in managing registration, degree audit systems, academic policy enforcement, and institutional reporting—ensuring data integrity and compliance with accrediting bodies, state agencies, and federal guidelines. Her experience in both large public institutions and smaller campuses gives Karla the flexibility and insight to quickly adapt to new environments, an essential quality for an interim role. This will be a short-term assignment starting mid-May 2025 through the end of August 2025.
