Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Genetic Counseling Program Director at Xavier University of Louisiana

(April 2023, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Adel Gilbert securing the role as Director of the Genetic Counseling Program at Xavier University of Louisiana.

Adel Gilbert brings three decades of experience in clinical genetics/genomics in both the academic and private sectors.  She joins Xavier University of Louisiana from Wake Forest University, where she most recently was an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Wake Forest Genetic Counseling Program advisory board. She was previously the Director of Genetic Counseling Services at Metis Genetics, the Director of Clinical Services at Scion Lab Services, LLC/Scion Genomics, and the Co-Director of Postdoctoral Clinical Genetics Training Programs at The John Hopkins University. With licensure in 7 states with active ABGC certification, Gilbert has extensive experience in genetics program management and development. She has a master’s degree in Genetic Counseling and a master’s degree in clinical Genetics from McGill University.
