Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Founding Director and Professor of Biomedical Sciences Search at Roosevelt University

(September 4, 2025, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Dr. Chien-An Hu, securing the role as Founding Director and Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Roosevelt University.

Dr. Chien-An Hu received his Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Soochow University, Taipei, Taiwan. He then received Master’s and PhD degrees in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University. Dr. Hu completed a postdoctoral fellowship and served on the research faculty for the Institute of Genetic Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He worked as Assistant and Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and was Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Kansas Health Science University. Dr. Hu has been conducting biomedical research focusing on functions of genes, proteins, and crucial pathways in cancer, atherosclerosis, and end-stage kidney disease. He has formed and served as the principal investigator (PI), co-PI or co-I in several NIH- and DOD-funded, transdisciplinary collaborative teams. Dr. Hu and his teams have published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has mentored and trained numerous junior faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, medical, graduate, and undergraduate students. Dr. Hu has been recognized nationally and internationally for his outstanding teaching and research, including 3 times by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) as a “Minority-Serving Institute Faculty Scholar.”
