Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Dean for the Ella Cline Shear School of Education at SUNY Geneseo

(January 16, 2026, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Dr. Ann Monroe-Baillargeon, securing the role as Dean for the Ella Cline Shear School of Education at SUNY Geneseo.

Dr. Ann Monroe-Baillargeon comes to Geneseo from Houghton University (NY), where she served most recently as Associate Provost and Director of Online Programs. She received her PhD in Education from Syracuse University. Dr. Monroe-Baillargeon has held leadership and faculty roles at Buena Vista University (IA), University of Saint Joseph (CT), Alfred University (NY), and Nazareth University (NY). She brings 15 years of experience in K–12 education as a teacher and administrator and holds permanent New York certifications in both teaching and administration. As the new Dean, she will be a vital member of the Provost’s Executive Leadership Team and will work closely with the new Provost to advance the college’s Strategic Plan championing SUNY Geneseo’s mission of delivering a distinctive, equity-centered, public liberal arts honors college experience to all students in the college.

Founded in 1871 as the Geneseo Normal and Training School, SUNY Geneseo is one of the original campuses of the SUNY system, established in 1948. It has evolved into a nationally recognized, selective public liberal arts college with undergraduate and graduate programs of study.
