Dr. Powers has extensive experience as a visionary leader throughout Health Sciences in higher education. Powers has served as Senior Associate Dean of the College of Health Sciences and as Interim Divisional Dean for the School of Social Work at Boise State. Currently, Dr. Powers also serves as the chair of the St. Luke’s Health System Treasure Valley Community Board. Powers earned a doctorate in social work from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University, and a bachelor’s degree in family life sciences from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
