Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

(June 9, 2026, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Amanda Duval-Norwood, securing the role as Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Amanda Duval-Norwood is a nationally experienced HR leader known for building employee-centered workplace cultures and advancing organizational excellence across higher education.  Norwood has more than two decades of leadership experience spanning higher education, healthcare, and senior living industries. Most recently, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Harper College, where she led strategic initiatives in workforce planning, labor relations, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational development. Norwood earned a Master of Business Administration from Grantham University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from National Louis University. She also holds Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and working closely with the Chancellor and senior leadership, Norwood will build a responsive, collaborative, and high-performing HR organization aligned with the University’s mission and long-term goals, offering a capstone opportunity to shape organizational culture at scale and leave a lasting impact on a complex public university serving the region.
