Melissa McGovern will serve in this critical role, leading one of the College’s most highly regarded programs. Melissa was recently Associate Professor at Joliet Junior College and previously Co-chair of the Nursing Program at College of DuPage. She earned her MSN and BSN at Northern Illinois University. Ms. McGovern’s leadership in nursing education includes curriculum development, ACEN evaluation, simulation, and clinical instruction. As Associate Dean, Melissa will assist in overseeing curriculum development, accreditation, and faculty advancement. She will have a direct hand in advancing one of the College’s most vital academic areas and making a tangible impact on the future of healthcare education.

Located in Livonia, Michigan, Schoolcraft College is a public community college established in 1961. Originally named Northwest Wayne County Community College, it was renamed to honor Henry Rowe Schoolcraft, a 19th-century explorer and scholar significant to Michigan’s early development.
