Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Assistant Vice President of Finance and Controller at Marietta College

(January 16, 2026, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Vicki Steele securing the role as Assistant Vice President of Finance and Controller at Marietta College.

Having recently served as Controller and Acting Vice President of Finance at Ohio Dominican University, Vicki Steele will bring more than 20 years of higher education financial leadership experience to Marietta College.  She holds an MBA from Ohio Dominican University, and her record includes securing more than $3.1 million in PPP loan forgiveness, managing over $7.8 million in CARES and HEERF funding, implementing major ERP and payroll conversions, strengthening grant compliance, and driving operational efficiencies across purchasing, accounts payable, banking, and student accounts. Reporting to Marietta College’s Vice President for Finance & Administration/CFO, Steele will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls while leading a five-member Accounting & Business Services team and advancing efforts to modernize financial systems and streamline processes. Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to staff development, Ms. Steele will lead a broad financial portfolio as she supports Marietta College’s strategic priorities during a period of continued momentum and transformation.
