Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Abilene Christian University

(September 4, 2025, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Randy Nguyen, securing the role as Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Abilene Christian University.

Dr. Randy Nguyen recently obtained his PhD in Statistics from Baylor University. He also holds a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics, both from Stephen F. Austin State University. Dr. Nguyen is an experienced educator having taught undergraduate statistics and mathematics courses at Baylor University, Texas Tech University, and Stephen F. Austin State University. Dr. Nguyen’s research interests include Bayesian methods for hypothesis testing and model selection with applications in pharmaceutical statistics, drug stability, and clinical trial design. He has received numerous academic honors, including the Southern Regional Council on Statistics Boyd Harshburger Travel Award, Baylor University’s Outstanding First Year Student Award, and Texas Tech University’s Helen DeVitt Jones Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. He joins a dedicated faculty passionate about engaged teaching and will contribute to a new statistics and data science degree program.
