Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES) Places Founding Director and Associate Professor of Applied Computing at Roosevelt University

(September 4, 2025, WEST HARTFORD, CT) Following a national search, Academic Career & Executive Search (ACES), a leading higher education focused executive search firm, is pleased to announce the successful placement of Dr. Graciela Perera, securing the role as Founding Director and Associate Professor of Applied Computing at Roosevelt University.

Dr. Graciela Perera was recently Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Computer Science Department at Northeastern Illinois University. She also served as the co-lead for the North Region of the NSF Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions program. Dr. Perera was Visiting Faculty at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, where she advanced broadening-in-computer-science initiatives and forged research collaborations spanning cybersecurity, quantum computing, data science, and artificial intelligence. As CAHSI North Region co-lead, Dr. Perera managed and executed the strategic plan under two NSF awards and Google support, including the design of the Google-NEIU Computer Science Summer Institute, an intensive bridge program for underrepresented students. Her service on boards across nonprofit (CompTIA, InfraGard), private (Google, AT&T), and academic sectors has honed her ability to cultivate high-impact, interdisciplinary alliances. In this role, Dr. Perera will lead faculty recruitment, program accreditation, research initiatives, and curriculum development, creating a vertically integrated research ecosystem that supports students from entry through doctoral completion.
