Randy Oostra, the Downtown Toledo Development Corporation’s Chairman, and the President and CEO of ProMedica said, “The reboot of the development corporation is needed to implement the vision crafted by the 22nd Century Committee.  Clearly, we needed someone who can come in and be a team player, work in an environment to get everyone to work together.  The bottom line is there is a great harmony of people working together, all working to get the job done.”

“We want to make sure that we are all working together to deliver on a master plan that was well thought out,” said Bob LaClair, the Vice President of the Downtown Toledo Development Corporation, and the President and CEO of Fifth Third Bank (Northwestern Ohio).

“I’ve spent 23 years in South Florida working in many different capacities.  I’ve worked for the private sector, public sector, and the nonprofit sector.  My skill set is very broad.  I’ve been wanting to come back home for some time.  I’m happy to be part of the downtown renaissance,” Bach said.

“When top community and corporate CEOs are directly involved in the downtown development process, things happen.  The 22nd Century Committee, comprised of Toledo’s top executive leadership, provided the sense of urgency, direction, and the commitment of resources necessary to bring about a renaissance,” Smith said. “Combining Rachel’s experience and demonstrated record of performance with the Toledo’s engaged corporate, community and civic leadership, will undoubtedly create a renaissance and one of the most sought-after business addresses in Ohio.”
