Michelle Smead

Michelle Smead is Managing Director of Mack International, L.L.C. She brings over 25 years of executive search experience serving a broad spectrum of family enterprise, financial services, wealth and investment management clients on a domestic and international basis.

Michelle’s experience includes placing C-suite executives and other senior-level professionals in functional areas spanning general management, operations, finance, tax, legal, technical accounting, investment management and wealth management.

Prior to joining Mack International, Michelle held senior executive search positions with A.T. Kearney and other global executive search organizations. She also served as Executive Search Business Partner for BMO Harris. Michelle began her executive search and consulting career with KPMG Peat Marwick. There, she led a broad range of executive level management, financial, tax and accounting assignments serving clients in privately and publicly-held corporations.

Michelle is active with many professional and not-for-profit organizations. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum, Board of Directors of Executive Leaders in Transition, past President of the Kellogg’s Executive Women’s Network and Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Women’s Board, and former Board Member of the DePaul Theater School. Michelle received her MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. She received her B.A. from University of Illinois in economics.
