Dan joined the ADK team in 2018, bringing more than 35 years of experience in the aviation industry. His career began in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief on F-15 Aircraft. He has worked at several airports including Southern Illinois General Aviation Airport, Stapleton International Airport and Denver International Airport. In 2008, Dan retired from the City and County of Denver as the Vice President of Operations for the Denver International Airport where he successfully managed large groups of employees, multiple contracts, large budgets, and a busy and complex operation for the fifth busiest airport in the U.S.
Dan believes in building strong and long-lasting relationships through open and honest collaboration, creative listening and understanding the big picture for everyone involved. He encourages and practices continuous improvement and pushes himself and others to always challenge themselves beyond their comfort level. He enjoys public speaking and has performed professional presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad.
He teaches aviation courses as an Adjunct Professor at the Metropolitan State University in Denver and is a trainer for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). Dan teaches several workshops covering the topics of “How to be an Effective Public Speaker” and “Professional Development” for industry professionals.
Dan is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) with the American Association of Airport Executives and served on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Chapter of the American Association of AAAE for over 4 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in Business Administration in Project Management from Regis University.
Dan has two sons of whom he is close to and proud.
