The Lancer Group Continues Expansion with Addition of Jeff Yolen and Peter Deegan

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 13, 2016 — The Lancer Group, a leading retained executive search firm that partners with private equity firms, their portfolio companies, and public corporations, announced that Jeff Yolen and Peter Deegan have joined the firm. Jeff Yolen, Partner, joins the Boston office and Peter Deegan, Principal, is based out of Philadelphia.

Jeff and Peter will further deepen the firm’s private equity, software, industrial manufacturing, and business services practices. “We are delighted to add Jeff and Peter to our team” stated Scott Dunklee, Partner, The Lancer Group. “We continue to expand our capabilities and offerings in private equity in order to better serve our clients.”

Jeff brings to The Lancer Group a strong practice focused on private equity backed software and technology companies. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff held leading roles at Russell Reynolds, JM Search, and Renovata Partners. Before entering executive search, Jeff spent over 15 years as a software, internet, and mobile executive and investor. He served as Chief Revenue Officer of Sphere (acquired by AOL and merged with Outbrain). Other relevant experience includes serving as a venture partner at New Atlantic Ventures (formerly DFJ New England and Draper Atlantic), and executive roles at Virgin Management, Real Networks, and Kozmo.com.

Peter Deegan joins The Lancer Group with significant experience leading senior-level searches for private equity funds and their portfolio companies across a broad range of industries with particular expertise on industrial manufacturing, distribution, and business services. Before joining the firm, Peter served as Vice President in JM Search’s private equity practice and was a former Consultant at Lancor. Prior to his career in executive search, Peter was a deal professional with EdgePoint Capital where he ran both sell-side and buyside engagements.
