Pexco LLC hires Senior Executive to Lead Medical Division

PHILADELPHIA, PA, August 24, 2016 — Pexco LLC, a leading North American specialty plastics developer and manufacturer across Medical, Defense, and Industrial markets, has announced the establishment and hiring of a new Medical Division President, Mauricio Arellano.  Mr. Arellano is the former Executive Vice President, Global Operations for Integer Holdings Corporation, until recently better known as Greatbatch, Inc.

Neil Shillingford, Pexco CEO, remarks, “Pexco has invested considerably in its medical division the last few years, notably with our acquisitions of the Spectrum Plastics Group and Precision Extrusion as well as the expansion of our facility in Baja California, Mexico.  We have built some nice commercial momentum recently within the sector to be sure, but this event certainly marks a step-change in our position and proposition going forward.  With Mauricio’s experience and leadership, we intend to advance our presence considerably in the medical plastics and medical device outsourcing industries.”

For over ten years across a number of leadership capacities and ultimately as President of its medical division, Mr. Arellano directed the Greatbatch organization, now part of Integer Holdings Corporation, one of the largest medical device outsourcing manufacturers in the world.  Most recently, he was Executive Vice President, Global Operations, Integer Holdings Corporation, where he was responsible for 28 manufacturing plants worldwide leading the manufacturing and supply chain functions.

Last year, Pexco announced the acquisition of Precision Extrusion, Inc., the Glens Falls, NY-based advanced medical tubing extruder.  Pexco had previously acquired the innovative Spectrum Plastics of Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013, providing it a base in injection molding and micromolding solutions for medical device products and surgical, bioimplantable plastics, including processing capabilities around bioresorbable material technology.  In 2014, Pexco expanded its Mexicali, Mexico operation and clean room capacity to accommodate medical extrusion growth in Baja California.  In total, Pexco operates five medical manufacturing facilities across the United States and Mexico and is uniquely positioned with scalable advanced extrusion, injection molding, micromolding, and bioresorbable technologies to serve the needs of the top medical device companies and customers.

Mr. Arellano comments on the news and announcement, “I look forward to working with all my new colleagues at Pexco and leading its considerable and highly capable resources within its Medical Division.  This will be an exciting time as we continue to build on the momentum Pexco has already established so successfully.”
